The PRD500 is a CAT5E UTP cable (PCT50SF) terminated with gold plated male RJ45 connectors at both ends. The PCT50SF networking cable specifically designed for the growing number of digital applications in the professional AV industry. Unlike any other CAT5E cable available on the market, the PCT50SF features Duraflex™ outer jacket constructed using a double-extrusion technique with a polyurethane outer and PVC inner jacket. The polyurethane outer jacket offers an excellent resistance against mechanical wear due to pulling, bending, cracking and UV exposure, while the PVC inner jacket keeps it easy to handle. The conductor section consists of 4 pairs with stranded 24 AWG conductors which guarantees an optimal signal transmission while the double shielding consisting of an overall aluminum foil surrounded by a braiding offers a high immunity to noise and interference caused by external devices. Supports 10Base-T, 100Base-TX and 1000Base-T gigabit networks.

The 100Ω cables are ideal for the transmission of digital signals. This impedance is mostly used in our wide range of UTP cables.
When flexibility, abrasion and oil resistance have to be guaranteed, PUR cables are an excellent choice. PUR is known for being Halogen free, not containing chlorine, iodine, fluorine, bromine or astatine. This jacket type does however have a limited temperature range compared to the other jacket types, -40…80⁰C.
CAT5E can handle a gigabit Ethernet network (1000Mbps at 100Mhz) and is designed to reduce crosstalk better that CAT5.
The combination of a hard and solid inner jacket and a soft outer jacket provides great flexibility with a solid touch, even after numerous times of winding and unwinding.
Shrink sleeves are meant to protect company logo’s or cable tags, they are factory installed for the purpose of placing a cable tag without the need to detach the connector. The heat shrink tubing can be easily shrunk by means of a heat gun. The sleeves are not lined with glue and have a length of 60mm. To achieve the most optimal care for your cable connection the sleeve is best to be placed 30 cm from the connector.
The Duraflex™ technology is based on the highest grade of materials for its outer jacket to withstand extreme circumstances and mechanic impact. This gives the cable the advantage to keep his flexibility in low temperatures and an overall better abrasion resistance. The UV protection makes sure that the cable maintains its mechanical properties and doesn’t turn brittle after long-term exposures.
The connectors that are fitted with gold plated contacts have the advantage of preventing oxidation and maintain performance after years of use. Another great property of gold is that it is an excellent electrical conductor. For comparison, if pure copper has a relative conductivity of 100 then gold is only 31% lower than copper, while nickel is 76% lower than copper.
