The PAC55 is a high quality signal and power cable in one jacket. This kind of cable is designed to fulfill all demands when using active loudspeakers. The cable consists of a power cable and a balanced signal cable. A general outer jacket with an O.D. of 16 mm and made of flexible PVC protects each inner cable against abrasion. The inner power cable contains 3 conductors with a section of 1.5 mm², protected by a PVC jacket with an O.D of 8 mm. The signal section is balanced and contains two times twisted inner conductors of 0.125 mm² with an excellent shielding to prevent any influence of hum, noise, radio interference and magnetic fields. The signal section is also protected by an outer jacket of PVC with an O.D. of 4 x 8 mm. The PAC55 cable finds its application in mobile systems where power and signal are desired to be in one cable (active speaker systems) and is specially designed for high power systems.

A stranded copper wire is more flexible and easier to install than a large single-strand wire with the same cross section. Stranding improves wire life in applications where flexibility is needed. A particular cross section of a stranded conductor gives it essentially the same resistance characteristics as a single-strand conductor, but with added flexibility.
Tin is a useful plating for copper because it not only helps to boost copper’s properties, it also helps the wire to last much longer and counter acts against oxidation. Tin also helps to strengthen the copper wire, making it more resilient to breakage or lost connections, at the same time boosting the coppers conductivity.
Bare copper spiral is even more flexible than a braided shielding. This type of shield is constructed by wrapping the shield material in one direction around the conductors. Spiral shields are most effective in the use of cable where audio signals are transmitted.
The cotton paper separator ensures less friction between the outer jacket and the PVS conductor isolation, creating good flexibility and flex life.
