Description

The CHD124 is an high speed HDMI cable with Ethernet, designed for on-site termination with HDM19 connectors. It features a Flamoflex™ outer jacket compliant to the IEC 60332-1 standard regarding fire and flammability resistance in public installations. The Flamoflex™ material is specifically designed with installers convenience in mind, offering a smooth and durable outer jacket for easy installation and pulling. The conductor section of the CHD124 consists of 5 individually shielded pairs with solid 24 AWG conductors for transferring both video and Ethernet data. An additional 26 AWG pair and two separate 26 AWG conductors are used for synchronization between transmitter and receiver. This entire section is additionally covered with a double shielding consisting of an overall aluminum foil surrounded by a braiding. The triple shielding offers a high immunity against noise and interference caused by external devices. Using the CHD124, high definition video (1080p) can be transferred over distances up to 20 meters, Lengths below 10m will perform as HIGH SPEED HDMI with ETHERNET and Lengths between 10 and 15m will perform at STANDARD SPEED HDMI with ETHERNET standards.. Compatible with PROCAB connector HDM19.

Technology

Cable properties

Flamoflex™

Cables that are featured with a Flamoflex™ outer jacket are compliant to the IEC 60332-1 standard regarding fire and flammability resistance in public installations. The Flamoflex™ material is specifically designed with installers convenience in mind, offering a smooth and durable outer jacket for easy installation and pulling capabilities to guide the cable around a corner.

Meter indicator

For ease of installation these bulk cables are provided with an indication on every meter of the cable. This enables installers to have a clear and efficient indication of how many meters they still have available on their reel.

LSHF

LSHF stands for Low Smoke, Halogen Free. This term refers to Halogen free flame retardant thermoplastic material used as a sheathing compound in cables. In the event of a fire or when exposed to high levels of heat, the chemicals in the jacket removes heat from the flame, whilst the reaction produces water as a by-product to help quench the flame.  As a result, the cable will emit very low levels of smoke, and non-toxic levels of poisonous halogen gasses.

IEC60332

The outer jacket of all PROCAB cables complying to IEC60332 will extinguish itself when that cable is briefly exposed to a small flame.

High speed with Ethernet

The High speed HDMI cables are designed and tested to handle video resolutions of 1080p and beyond, including advanced display technologies such as 4K, 3D and deep Color. This cable is also equipped with an Ethernet cable inside. The additional cable allows to connect all of your electronic devices to the internet, without using an external Ethernet cable for your setup.

Stranded copper

A stranded copper wire is more flexible and easier to install than a large single-strand wire with the same cross section. Stranding improves wire life in applications where flexibility is needed. A particular cross section of a stranded conductor gives it essentially the same resistance characteristics as a single-strand conductor, but with added flexibility.

Stranded tinned Copper

Tin is a useful plating for copper because it not only helps to boost copper’s properties, it also helps the wire to last much longer and counter acts against oxidation. Tin also helps to strengthen the copper wire, making it more resilient to breakage or lost connections, at the same time boosting the coppers conductivity.

Tinned copper braiding

Tinned copper braid shielding provides superior physical protection, while maintaining good flexibility and flex life. These shields are the ideal choice for minimizing interference and have lower dc resistance than foil. The tin plating also adds to the copper in the cable as it not only helps to boost the copper’s properties, it also helps the wire to last much longer and counter acts against oxidation.

Aluminum Foil

Aluminum foil shielding is ideal for reflecting electromagnetic interference (EMI) and is often used in combination with a braided wire to absorb EMI.

Bare copper drain wire

The drain wire is a part of a shield within a cable that reduces the resistance from any point on the shield to ground. A drain wire carries extraneous electrical noise to ground and away from the circuit or system.
