The SVGA52 is a high-end video cable for all high resolution video interconnects. It contains 5 shielded coax cables, all with solid tin plated copper conductors, foamed polyethylene dielectric and braided shielding and an extra overall Aluminium foil shielding with a drain wire for optimum shielding. The coax cables feature a high velocity of propagation and minimal return loss to ensure quality signal delivery on longer connections. The outer jacket is made of special hardened PVC with a flexible core. This ensures a very smooth outer surface, to make the cable slide easily inside electrical tubes. The flexible core maintains the flexibility of the cable. Compatible with Neutrik BNC connector NBTC75BSS5.
Tinned copper braid shielding provides superior physical protection, while maintaining good flexibility and flex life. These shields are the ideal choice for minimizing interference and have lower dc resistance than foil. The tin plating also adds to the copper in the cable as it not only helps to boost the copper’s properties, it also helps the wire to last much longer and counter acts against oxidation.
Aluminum foil shielding is ideal for reflecting electromagnetic interference (EMI) and is often used in combination with a braided wire to absorb EMI.
The drain wire is a part of a shield within a cable that reduces the resistance from any point on the shield to ground. A drain wire carries extraneous electrical noise to ground and away from the circuit or system. The tin plating also adds to the copper in the cable as it not only helps to boost the copper’s properties, it also helps the wire to last much longer and counter acts against oxidation.
For ease of installation these bulk cables are provided with an indication on every meter of the cable. This enables installers to have a clear and efficient indication of how many meters they still have available on their reel.
