Description

The PAC131 cable combines one balanced signal pair (2 x 0.35 mm²) shielded by an Aluminum foil, together with a 2G2 (2mm²) power section. The twisting of the signal conductors in combination with the Aluminum foil shielding ensure a high immunity against interference and noise caused by external devices, while the flexible PVC outer jacket with an outer diameter of 7.4 mm ensures a user-friendly experience for mobile and fixed installations. Some specific applications for this kind of cable is transferring both serial data and power from control units such as system or wall panel controllers to Automation systems, LED display systems, … This cable is optimized for Low voltage applications (24V, 48V...) and not designed for 230V use.

Technology

Cable properties

Stranded copper

A stranded copper wire is more flexible and easier to install than a large single-strand wire with the same cross section. Stranding improves wire life in applications where flexibility is needed. A particular cross section of a stranded conductor gives it essentially the same resistance characteristics as a single-strand conductor, but with added flexibility.

Stranded tinned Copper

Tin is a useful plating for copper because it not only helps to boost copper’s properties, it also helps the wire to last much longer and counter acts against oxidation. Tin also helps to strengthen the copper wire, making it more resilient to breakage or lost connections, at the same time boosting the coppers conductivity.

Tinned copper drain wire

The drain wire is a part of a shield within a cable that reduces the resistance from any point on the shield to ground. A drain wire carries extraneous electrical noise to ground and away from the circuit or system. The tin plating also adds to the copper in the cable as it not only helps to boost the copper’s properties, it also helps the wire to last much longer and counter acts against oxidation.

Aluminum Foil

Aluminum foil shielding is ideal for reflecting electromagnetic interference (EMI) and is often used in combination with a braided wire to absorb EMI.

Cotton paper

The cotton paper separator ensures less friction between the outer jacket and the PVS conductor isolation, creating good flexibility and flex life.
