Description

The MCR audio multipair cable is a very strong and rugged type of cable, suitable for indoor and outdoor applications. Each audio pair consists of two insulated and twisted conductors of 0.22 mm² and a stranded drain wire of 0.22 mm² to prevent any influence of hum, noise or electromagnetic fields from external equipment. Each balanced audio pair has an Aluminium foil separator. All audio pairs are also fitted with a general paper foil packing and a strong Black PVC jacket. The PROCAB MCR multipair cable is suited for all kinds of applications such as stagebox connections, live concerts, mobile installations,…

Technology

Cable properties

Stranded tinned Copper

Tin is a useful plating for copper because it not only helps to boost copper’s properties, it also helps the wire to last much longer and counter acts against oxidation. Tin also helps to strengthen the copper wire, making it more resilient to breakage or lost connections, at the same time boosting the coppers conductivity.

Aluminum Foil

Aluminum foil shielding is ideal for reflecting electromagnetic interference (EMI) and is often used in combination with a braided wire to absorb EMI.

Tinned copper drain wire

The drain wire is a part of a shield within a cable that reduces the resistance from any point on the shield to ground. A drain wire carries extraneous electrical noise to ground and away from the circuit or system. The tin plating also adds to the copper in the cable as it not only helps to boost the copper’s properties, it also helps the wire to last much longer and counter acts against oxidation.

Cotton paper

The cotton paper separator ensures less friction between the outer jacket and the PVS conductor isolation, creating good flexibility and flex life.
