Description

The CLV220A is an active optical HDMI 2.0 cable aimed for fixed installations. It is able to transmit resolutions up to ultra HD 4K 2160p (4096 x 2160) at 60 Hz with a bandwidth of 18Gbps via OM3 fiber optical fiber technology, eliminating the possibility of electronic interference. The interchangeable connectors enable you to easily detach and reattach the connectors. This way the cable can be fitted through holes and straight tubes with diameters as small as 25 mm.

The CLV220A comes with a USB A to USB Micro B cable included, which is an accessory only required when the HDMI port on the transmitter side is delivering insufficient voltage (typically required when < 4.8 V) for powering the receiver end. The power is transferred from transmitter end to receiver end over the CLV220A cable.

Most general HDMI sources deliver sufficient voltage making the additional cable unnecessary. However typical applications where it might be required are e.g. streaming media player boxes, which might deliver insufficient voltage over their HDMI output.

FAQ

Answer

The Included USB cable is an optional accessory, which is only required when the HDMI port on transmitter side is not delivering sufficient power to the receiver end. The additional USB cable shall be attached on the receiver end (Display side).

There are copper conductors inside the cable, delivering the power from transmitter to receiver end over the HDMI cable. We have tested with quite a number of sources and displays, and never required the additional USB power cable to be attached. But, it is included in case there might insufficient power delivery. Typically when using portable (battery powered) devices, it could be that the power supply is insufficient.

Answer
Yes, the USB cable comes supplied with all lengths of CLV220A.

Answer
The optional included USB cable must be connected to the receiver (display) end.

Answer

Typically TV’s have multiple HDMI inputs, mostly accompanied with one or more USB port for power which also frequently used for powering Chromecast or Android TV box. The USB cable can be connected to such a port.

Answer

No, the PRV220A comes not supplied with a USB cable. With the rental applications in mind, having a USB connection port on one of the connectors would make the cable less rugged and more complicated in use.

Technology

Cable properties

4K Ultra HD

The resolution of 4K is up to 4 times as high as 1080p. This resolution consists of a horizontal resolution of 4000 pixels and a vertical resolution of 2000 pixels.

Optical fiber

Procab™ introduces fiber optic HDMI 2.0 cables for various applications with cable lengths ranging from 10 meters up to 100 meters, both installation cables as well as HighFlex™ armored mobile use cables are available.

High speed with Ethernet

The High speed HDMI cables are designed and tested to handle video resolutions of 1080p and beyond, including advanced display technologies such as 4K, 3D and deep Color. This cable is also equipped with an Ethernet cable inside. The additional cable allows to connect all of your electronic devices to the internet, without using an external Ethernet cable for your setup.

Gold plated

The connectors that are fitted with gold plated contacts have the advantage of preventing oxidation and maintain performance after years of use. Another great property of gold is that it is an excellent electrical conductor. For comparison, if pure copper has a relative conductivity of 100 then gold is only 31% lower than copper, while nickel is 76% lower than copper.
