Description

The CLA836 is a compact stereo-to-mono summing adapter cable designed to connect a stereo RCA signal to a mono line input equipped with a 3-pole terminal block.

This cable is developed in response to a practical integration challenge: connecting a stereo audio source to a mono multi-zone system without occupying two separate audio inputs. Its integrated summing circuit combines the left and right channels into one mono signal.

This ensures that audio content from both channels is retained, while only one input is used. Leaving more inputs available for additional sources or zones. Originally designed as an accessory for the AUDAC MAIA series, the CLA836 is also an ideal solution for AUDAC LUNA devices and other compatible professional audio equipment with mono terminal-block inputs.

An integrated summing circuit combines the left and right audio channels into one mono signal, ensuring that audio information from both channels is retained. This makes it a convenient solution when connecting stereo audio sources to mono amplifiers, audio processors, matrix systems or other professional AV equipment. The two female RCA/Cinch connectors are clearly identified in red and white, while the 3-pole terminal block features a 3.81 mm pitch for compatibility with professional installation equipment. Gold-plated RCA contacts and the shielded cable construction provide reliable signal transfer and help protect the audio signal against external interference.

Gold plated

The connectors that are fitted with gold plated contacts have the advantage of preventing oxidation and maintain performance after years of use. Another great property of gold is that it is an excellent electrical conductor. For comparison, if pure copper has a relative conductivity of 100 then gold is only 31% lower than copper, while nickel is 76% lower than copper.
